Gamma Phi Beta’s mission is to INSPIRE THE HIGHEST TYPE OF WOMANHOOD.

Crest

Gamma Phi Beta is one of the 10 oldest women’s organizations in North America. We are incredibly proud of our rich and accomplished history, dating back to our founding on November 11, 1874 at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.  Gamma Phi Beta was founded by Helen M. Dodge, Frances E. Haven, E. Adeline Curtis and Mary A. Bingham.  The term “sorority” was coined for our organization!  Today, Gamma Phi Beta is made up of 181 collegiate chapters, 175+ alumnae chapters, and over 200,000 collegiate members!
